Years in practice: 30 Best known for:
I am known as a leader in technology and intellectual property transactions. I have built and led global technology transactions practices at top-ranked firms, guiding clients from innovative start-ups to Fortune 50 technology companies through complex transactions involving IP, technology, and data development and commercialization.
Why I chose my practice area:
My interest began with IP litigation and trademark work, but as a mid-year associate in Boston, I worked with technology companies on transactional matters in ecommerce, biotech and software industries and was hooked. I enjoyed collaborating with companies, investors and strategic partners to help realize their technology and commercialization goals. 25 years later, I still love working with innovative companies and applying existing IP concepts to new technologies.
Most memorable case:
They include representing a global pharmaceutical manufacturer in building a first-of-its-kind AI-powered drug development tool; a proptech leader in negotiating a strategic partnership to transform the resident experience; and a global eyewear leader in negotiating a long-term Tom Ford brand license.
What makes me a leader in my field: I have over 25 years of experience in IP and technology transactions, representing IP creators, companies leveraging IP for business transformation, and investors across various industries. I’ve had the privilege of building and leading top-ranked IP and technology transactions practice groups at global law firms, training and mentoring associates who are now field leaders.
Outlook for 2025:
I anticipate more clarity on intellectual property issues related to AI and the training and use of AI models.
